RTK Premium delivers network RTK corrections across mainland Britain and Northern Ireland in ETRS89 (ETRF2000, epoch 2010.0) over standard NTRIP. In a fixed solution it reaches 1 to 2 cm horizontally and under 3 cm vertically. 2+ networks serve that area, so smart failover takes over when a network drops, and the 99.9% monthly service level applies in the Eligible Area the coverage map shows. Shetland, Orkney, the Outer Hebrides and the Isles of Scilly have no RTK Premium network today. A 14-day free trial comes first.

Ordnance Survey lists RTK Premium among the expert partners on its OS Net page.
Hitachi Construction Machinery UK now issues and manages its own RTK licences, instead of routing them through a third party.
Coptrz put Premium Positioning RTK in every drone demo kit and has run it for the last five or six years.
More than 100 step-by-step guides cover receivers, controllers, drones and machine control.
RTKTEST.com compares up to three correction services against a surveyed point in one 15-minute session, and the 14-day trial runs on your own receiver at your own sites.
UK crews choose between the national reference network through its licensed partners, commercial network RTK, crowd-sourced base stations, satellite-delivered corrections and their own base.
| Type | Typical operator | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| National reference network | The national mapping agency, with real-time access through licensed partners. | Which partner supplies the real-time stream, and what that partner commits to on availability and support. |
| Commercial network RTK | A private provider with stations across Great Britain and beyond. | How many correction sources serve your area, the published service level and its remedy, the term, and whether a trial is offered. |
| Crowd-sourced network | Independent owners hosting single base stations. | Distance to the nearest base, station uptime, and how each base was surveyed. |
| Satellite or state-space (PPP-RTK, SSR) | A provider broadcasting an error model without a local base. | Convergence time, accuracy and vertical performance. |
| Your own base | Your crew, on a surveyed point. | The survey of the base point, range, and the time spent setting it up and guarding it. |
RTK Premium delivers ETRS89 (ETRF2000, epoch 2010.0), with ellipsoidal heights. British National Grid and Ordnance Datum Newlyn heights are defined from ETRS89 through the OSTN15 and OSGM15 grid transformations, so apply those in your controller or office software. A grid file reaches centimetre level, and a general seven-parameter transformation is less accurate.
Farmland: The UK's utilised agricultural area was 16.8 million hectares in 2025, 69% of total UK land. Drilling, spraying and controlled traffic on that land need a correction that holds pass after pass. (Defra, 2025)
Construction: Construction new work in Great Britain was worth £139,106 million in current prices in 2025, up 1.9%. Setting-out, machine control and as-built checks on those sites run on centimetre positioning. (ONS, 2025)
Roads: Great Britain's roads totalled an estimated 246,500 miles in 2024. Resurfacing, widening and drainage works are staked and checked against design. (Department for Transport, 2024)
Rail: Great Britain's rail network runs to 15,747 km of route. Track surveys, clearance checks and renewals are measured against design to the centimetre. (Department for Transport, Rail Trends, 2024-25)
Ports: UK ports handled a total of 429.7 million tonnes in 2024. Quay works, dredging and terminal layout are set out from surveyed control. (Department for Transport, 2024)
Drones: The Civil Aviation Authority lists 10,475 active drone Operator IDs registered to organisations in Q2 2026/27. Survey-grade mapping from those aircraft depends on RTK or post-processed positions. (UK Civil Aviation Authority, Q2 2026/27)
RTK Premium covers mainland Britain and Northern Ireland with 2+ networks and a 99.9% monthly service level in the Eligible Area. Shetland, Orkney, the Outer Hebrides and the Isles of Scilly have no RTK Premium network today, and the coverage map shows the networks at any site.
The national reference network reaches real-time users through licensed partners, and community networks host free single base stations of varying quality. Check what each source commits to on availability and support.
Use ETRS89, then convert to British National Grid with OSTN15 and to ODN heights with OSGM15.
Where 2+ networks serve your site, RTK Premium moves to the next network, and the receiver may lose its fix briefly before fixing again. The service level counts a month that falls short.
Prices depend on the number of devices, the term and the product, and we quote them after a short call. The 14-day trial needs no payment.
No. Network RTK builds the correction for your position from the surrounding stations, so there is no base to set up, survey or guard.
Yes. The trial runs for 14 days on your own receiver, with full access to the RTK Premium network.

Run the 14-day trial at your own UK sites, with OSTN15 and OSGM15 applied, before you commit to a plan. For work on the islands without coverage, ask us what runs there.
