Correction services in Denmark

Danish crews choose between commercial network RTK, crowd-sourced base stations, satellite-delivered corrections and their own base. Denmark has no public real-time network for general use.

TypeTypical operatorWhat to check
Commercial network RTKA private firm; the national agency registers such services on request and places them in accuracy class A, B or C.Whether the service is registered and in which class, how many correction sources serve your area, the published service level and its remedy, and the term.
Crowd-sourced networkIndependent owners hosting single base stations.Distance to the nearest base, station uptime, and how each base was surveyed.
Satellite or state-space (PPP-RTK, SSR)A provider broadcasting an error model without a local base.Convergence time, accuracy and vertical performance.
Your own baseYour crew, on a surveyed point. The survey of the base point, range, and the time spent setting it up and guarding it.

Coordinates and heights

RTK Premium delivers ETRS89 (ETRF2000, epoch 2010.0), with ellipsoidal heights. Official Danish coordinates use the current Danish realisation of ETRS89, so apply the projection and the height conversion in your controller or office software: UTM zone 32 for most of Denmark and zone 33 on Bornholm, or a DKTM zone, and DVR90 heights through the national geoid model. The two realisations can differ slightly, so check against a national control point before cadastral or control work.

Industries using precise positioning or RTK corrections in Denmark

Precision farming: Precision technology was in use on farms holding 81% of Danish farmland in 2024, up from 78% in 2023. Section control and auto-steer on that land depend on a correction that holds pass after pass. (Statistics Denmark, 2024)

Arable land: Arable land was 56.2% of Denmark's land area in 2023, by far the highest share of any EU country. Drilling, spraying and controlled traffic on that land run on centimetre guidance. (Eurostat, 2023)

Offshore wind: Denmark had 17 offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of about 2.7 GW in October 2024, when the Thor project, at more than 1,000 MW, received its construction permit. Cable landfalls and onshore substations for those farms are set out from surveyed points. (Danish Energy Agency, 2024)

Rail: Denmark's rail network was 2,640 km long on 1 January 2026. Track renewals, electrification and new lines are measured against design to the centimetre. (Statistics Denmark, 2026)

Questions about RTK in Denmark

Which RTK correction service serves Denmark?

RTK Premium serves Jutland, Funen, Zealand and most larger islands with network RTK in ETRS89, and the coverage map shows the networks at any site.

Is there a free RTK network in Denmark?

Denmark has no public real-time network for general use: private firms run the national positioning services, and the national agency registers them on request. Community networks host free single base stations of varying quality, so check what each source commits to on availability and support.

Which frame should RTK corrections use in Denmark?

Use ETRS89, then project to UTM zone 32, or zone 33 on Bornholm, or to a DKTM zone, and convert to DVR90 heights with the national geoid model.

Do I need my own base station?

No. Network RTK builds the correction for your position from the surrounding stations, so there is no base to set up, survey or guard.

How much does RTK Premium cost in Denmark?

Prices depend on the number of devices, the term and the product, and we quote them after a short call. The 14-day trial needs no payment.

How accurate is RTK in Denmark?

In a fixed solution under good conditions, RTK Premium reaches under 1.5 cm horizontally and 2.5 cm vertically.

Can I try RTK Premium before I buy?

Yes. The trial runs for 14 days on your own receiver, with full access to the RTK Premium network.
